CHRIS OSBORNE

Our Head Coach and club founder has a number of years coaching experience including working with the Warwickshire county U-13 and U-15 squads. He has also spent a season as Head Coach of the county’s development squad.

For the past two years he has also run the successful Racqueteers junior club in Coventry and has raised their profile within the city. Under his guidance, the club has become the city council’s preferred supplier of junior coaching and on their behalf has represented the sport at the Olympic Handover event and the Godiva Festival. The club were also honoured to manage the badminton tournament when Coventry hosted the British Transplant Games. Such is their reputation, The Racqueteers have been asked by the county to consider becoming a coaching Performance Centre – one of only around twenty in the country.

Chris has worked for Stratford Leisure Centre for whom he has run adult and children’s weekly classes and summer schools. 
Outside of coaching, he plays in the league for Old Warwickians and Alveston and is also a qualified umpire

RALF NIELSEN

Ralf is probably better known locally as a tennis coach and a player in that sport. He does have a successful history in badminton too, having represented Warwickshire at Junior County Level.

He too, is an experienced coach and has worked for Stratford Leisure Centre as Head Badminton Coach for many years now, running weekly group coaching sessions for junior players aged between 8 and 16. He has also organised many junior tournaments and taster sessions at the Leisure Centre.

He currently plays for Stratford in the Leamington and District League.

Both Chris and Ralf have helped many teenage players obtain their Duke of Edinburgh qualification in playing the sport and for community service by helping at coaching sessions

SARAH OSBORNE

One of our founder members, Sarah successfully completed her Level 1 Coach qualification last year. She has been a member of the county's U-13 and U-15 squads and whilst a member of the county's Development squad she and her partner took gold in the Warwickshire U-17 Restricted Doubles tournament at the tender age of 13! Sarah enjoys working with the younger players in the Wacky Racquets sessions

ELAINE SLATER

Elaine is a familiar face in the Coventry league and last season was playing in the Premier Division of the Ladies league for her new club Monsoon. Whilst she normally coaches with The Racqueteers, she has agreed to help us out by running a new after school club contract for us in Warwick and occasionally helps out at our Leamington club sessions

FELICITY ARMAN

Fliss joined us in 2011 after finishing her time as captain of the Chester University Ladies badmninton team where she passed her Level 1 coaching exam. (She also got a degree!) She has quickly and enthusiastically got involved with the coaching side and will be taking her Level 2 badge once her Masters degree studies are completed later this year
