Want to learn how to play the popular sport of Badminton?
Badminton coaching - It's as easy as ABC…
Alveston Badminton Club (ABC) have a very popular junior section aimed at teenagers who want coaching - and those who just want to play this fast indoor sport. Make new friends whilst getting healthy exercise!
Run with four experienced and (Badminton England Level 2) qualified coaches, you'll enjoy a mix of technical and tactical coaching, games, competitive tournaments and matches against other junior clubs. There are occasional "celebrity" coaching sessions from international players too. Racquets are available if you don't have your own.
The club is currently being assessed for "Premier" club status and is based at King Edward VI School, Stratford upon Avon. Club membership, however, is open to pupils of all local schools aged 10 - 18. We also have a fun based section for 7 - 11 year olds - Wacky Racquets
Each week, we run 6.00-7.30pm and 7.30-9.00pm Tuesdays and 7.30-9.00pm Wednesdays. All three are at KES School in the centre of Stratford - but check before you come as there will be some weeks when we will be playing elsewhere. Wacky Racquets runs on a Tuesday 4.00-5.30pm at Stratford leisure centre for players aged 7 to 11 and now we've added a second weekly Tuesday session at KES 6.00-7.30pm alongside the older players so there's a seamless transition when players are ready to move up. May 2011 sees two weekly sessions added in Leamington too - see the sessions page for more details And the cost? - Just £4 a session. This cost includes a free club polo shirt too! The club is included in the "Get into it" scheme run by the extended services team.
Enthusiasm and a positive attitude are all you need - and all we ask for! So what are you waiting for? Come along for a free trial session!
The club is grateful to financial help received from Stratford Town Trust and NFU Mutual |
